Our People

Agency Manager	D. Todd Butler received his Bachelors of Science degree in 1990 from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. Todd entered the insurance industry shortly after graduating from college. In June 1999 Todd joined Great West Insurance Agencies at Joe Morten & Son in South Sioux City, Nebraska as an Account Representative. He spent six months at Truckmen Great West in Merced, California filling in until the new manager was hired. Todd also managed Midwest Insurance/Joe Morten & Son, Inc. in Grand Island, NE for 4 and a half years before moving with his wife Janelle and son to Knoxville. Todd favorite things to do in his spare time are golfing, hunting, fishing, working on old cars and spending time with his wife and son.

Senior Account Representative	Carl A. Ritter is a 1963 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Business Administration. He owned his own trucking company for five years and has been in the trucking industry since 1963, working as an insurance adjuster, Vice President of Safety, and Risk Manager. He has been selling insurance since 1987. Carl believes that insurance is a service to the trucking industry and strives to see that his clients' insurance needs are met. Carl and his wife, Tricia, live in Loudon County. They have two daughters, two grandsons, and three granddaughters. Carl loves to golf and enjoys boating.

Account Representative	Kevin Sherritze is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Marketing. He has been selling truck insurance since 1995. He enjoys the challenge of presenting the many services that Joe Morten & Son has to offer to current and prospective clients. Traveling, golf and sports, especially University of Tennessee football, are some of Kevin's favorite pastimes. He and his wife Jody live in Lenoir City with their two sons.

Account Representative	Taylor Beck received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in 2000 and his masters degree from the University of Tennessee in 2002. He recently joined Joe Morten after spending two years in the liability department with Great West Casualty Company. Taylor lives with his wife, Betsy and daughter, Lucy in West Knoxville. He enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys sports and loves to golf.

Office Manager	Karen Branson has been working in the trucking industry since 1983 and has her CISR designation and STAR designation (Specialist in Transportation and Risk). Karen’s responsibilities include handling customer service and assisting in sales for large fleet accounts, supervisory responsibilities of the CSR’s and agency assistant, and also helps assist the agency manager. Karen and her husband, Wesley, have two sons, Joshua and Jaryd, and a daughter, Jordyn. She loves spending time with her family and cooking.

Customer Service Representative	Amy Lovin joined the Joe Morten insurance staff as a CSR in 2006. Amy has worked in the insurance industry since 1989 and has her CPSR designation. Amy likes getting to know her customers and establishing solid relationships with them. Taking care of customers is Amy's ultimate goal. Amy and her husband Rodney reside in Maryville with their two sons, Thomas and Grant. She enjoys participating in church activities, and stays busy with her son's baseball, football, and basketball games.

Customer Service Representative	Celia Jackson came to Joe Morten in May of 2003 after working at Great West for two years and has a background in the trucking industry. She strives to increase her knowledge of the Insurance Industry and is currently working toward her CIC designation. Celia lives with her husband Al in Knoxville. She has three children and three grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Customer Service Representative	Debbie Newburn joined Joe Morten & Son as a Customer Service Representative in May 2008. She is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma University. She has previous experience working in personal/commercial lines with a local agent. She was a preschool teacher before starting back to work in a business environment. She enjoys interacting with people and providing service to JMS customers. She is now working towards her STAR designation. Being part of a great working team with JMS is very rewarding for her. Debbie and her husband, Jim, live in West Knoxville. She and her husband are the parents of two grown children. They have one grandson. She loves walking, movies, fishing, boating, and spending a lot of time with her grandson.

Agency Assistant	Christi Vineyard joined the Joe Morten & Son staff as an Agency Assistant in 2006. She is a graduate of Transylvania University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. She enjoys getting to know our customers and assisting them with their certificate and MVR requests. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and reading.
